Im also an architecture student planning on being a furniture designer. Grew up working in the wood shop and now that I'm in a design atmosphere I don't see what else would be better for me to do. What all are you doing to get into that field if thats the direction you go?
A good friend of mine is a genius in any type of workshop. He’s made patterns out of steel then spray paints them and does some crazy art. Or he builds something out of wood and does some crazy thing with it.
What ever you can get your hands on, make something out of it. It will expand your mind and make you think out of the box. Explore new materials, methods, or creativity.
Anyone can be creative with what ever comes their way, you just have to let your mind explore new ideas.
Try painting, molding, building, stitching, glueing, coloring, anything creative.
